Discerning Moment: Evidence
The evidence of God is shown through His creation. We are commanded to love our neighbor as ourself, this includes the person you don't like or that is annoying. It is the second greatest commandment after Love the Lord your God with all your soul and all your mind! (Matt 22:37). This shows itself by… Continue reading Discerning Moment: Evidence
Guest Blog: Mike Shamburg- The Example
As we start in our early parenthood years and grow through our experience and challenges, our mindset is to have the greatest knowledge of what we should teach and pass down to our children. What words can we speak into their lives that will guide them down the path of prosperity, knowledge and a love… Continue reading Guest Blog: Mike Shamburg- The Example
Discerning Moment: Taste and See
What does it mean to “taste and see that the Lord is good?”
Hills and Valleys
Psalm 22:1- My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? Why are you so far from saving me, so far from the words of my groaning? It seems to me that our Christian culture has made it a sin to despair, to question God, to be just downright sad. However, the Bible is filled… Continue reading Hills and Valleys
Guest Blog- 10 Spiritually Tough Questions to ask Yourself by Jody Burkeen from Man Up Gods Way
I don’t know about you, but I am a pretty good liar when it comes to a self-evaluation. It’s kind of like looking in the mirror: I see the 18-year-old body I use to have and not the 50-year-old body I now have. Doing a spiritual self-evaluation is much the same way. Many times we… Continue reading Guest Blog- 10 Spiritually Tough Questions to ask Yourself by Jody Burkeen from Man Up Gods Way
Guest Blog: Jonathan Olsen- The Enemy and/or You
In our lives, we have struggles. We have innumerable moments of tribulation and anxiety. Moments of weakness and anxiety and through all of that, we have an innate nature to try and discern the cause of these moments. We try and discern what influences are taking hold in our life that are causing these situations to become such potent sources of anxiety, fear, tribulation, weakness, or failure. In Christianity, we are often compelled to believe that we have the influence of a demon(s) or some negative source acting on our minds to make our struggles seem more detrimental than they actually are. In modern Christianity, the religion has succumb to the belief that it is viewed as ridiculous to state that the devil is working to steal, kill, or destroy our inheritance with the Lord. Instead, we generalize the entire realm of anti-Christian influences into our lives as the “enemy”, therefore blanketing every possible cause of struggle and unhappiness into the category of an enemy.
Guest Blog- Shawn Capozzi- Show Up!
Psalm 46:1- God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in time of trouble I had incredible reminders recently that God is in everything. It was fantastic. I had an expectation, or a gigantic desire, for God to show up. He did like He always does, and honestly, that’s one of the main reasons… Continue reading Guest Blog- Shawn Capozzi- Show Up!
Thought to Action
Hebrews4:12- For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Our mindraces with thoughts all day long, many times nonsensical, irrelevant, worrisome, or just random in nature. If you are like… Continue reading Thought to Action
Wrestling with God
Genesis 32:28- Then the man said, “Your name will no longer be Jacob, but Israel, because you have struggled with God and with men and have overcome.”Jacob was shrewd, cunning and a deceiver. When he was born, he was jockeying for position even out of the womb, holding onto his brother Esau’s heel. The first… Continue reading Wrestling with God
