Discerning Moment- Hebrews 4:13

“Nothing in all creation is hidden from God. Everything is naked and exposed before his eyes, and he is the one to whom we are accountable.”
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭4:13‬ ‭NLT‬‬

This is an intimidating concept. After all if God knows all and sees all and we are accountable to Him, we can quickly find all the ways that we are not worthy. We see how our sin is exposed and how our striving to be “good” is quickly defeated.

The awesome thing is right after this verse we are told we can BOLDY go before the throne of grace because of the work Jesus did on the cross.

Once we start pursuing a relationship with Jesus instead of trying to satisfy a checklist, we will understand the heart of our Father and desire His will above all else.

When we do so we don’t have to hide in fear but quickly repent and learn from the mistake.

A relationship takes work, it takes effort. God has opened the door to discovering the relationship with him. It is an open invitation but he also does not force himself on us against our will. We must work at it daily and in doing so we will discover a treasure far greater than anything on earth can compare.
