At least for a time. Jesus told the parable of the son who said he would not follow his father’s request but eventually did and that son was the obedient one compared to the other son who said he would and never did. The important thing to note is that delayed obedience may result in our window of opportunity being lost. When God tells us to do something we should do it joyfully and urgently, even when it’s out of our comfort zone (which lets be honest, usually is...)
If we walk in darkness we are not being led by Jesus. There can be no darkness in Jesus because He is pure and holy. Our goal should be to grow in the knowledge of Him daily and have discernment about things that are not from Him. We must flee all things that hurt our relationship with God.
What my new YouTube short for what a false teacher is and is not
This is a tough balance for churches. If they listened to every complaint and changed what people wanted, they would be like a wave tossed about the sea, never moving in the direction God is calling them. The critical spirit is never satisfied. It thrives off power, give it an inch and it will take a mile. Churches do have an obligation, however, to listen to people who are genuine in their questions and who need discipleship.
